But I cannot understand the need to buy an expensive optical drive for it 
Anyway If I can get cinavia working without wasting money on bluray disc then I am willing to do so Also people so often complained about cinavia that I hoped somebody will point me to a sample I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)

Personally I have no Cinevia affected hardware ... Got only my TV (F8505), and nothing else with "firmware"

I have checked all of these movies on 1080p mkv rips...never had a problem... That's why I ask for a certain file I can check...

"The Roommate" is supposed to be protected by Cinevia ... BOTH the BRD and the DVD has the protection,
which should make for a sure bet triggering the protection.
You can find "The Roommate" on a number of sites. Think torrent
