Then when restarting he ask for checking updates, and you just click no!
After that, go back to settings/support/ software update
and there you can click NO for automatic updates
So far the updating, but removing cinavia still not able to find out how
I have a BD H-6500
This doesn't work - at least not for me.
Or what do you mean by "put back to factory settings?" - using reset in the menu at least keeps the firmware.

EDIT:From other forum, "hard reset" won't work either.

Only way to block updates is to use link in my description :)
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

I now have blocked it in my router - won't give old firmware back though.
Annoying - my other blurays haven't autoupdated in "power off" - but this appearently did...

Do you have any idea when the new root method will be in place?

Did you check if blocking was done CORRECTLY? :)

At least it took quite some while before it returning - and I didn't get "there are no available update at this moment". This which I kind of received within seconds without block.

Seems you ignore my questions about ETA about new method ;-)

Nah ETA is simple as soon as root STOPS working on latest firmware. That way ONLY those who have blocked updates correctly will get root :)

I don't get it.
Root didn't work on my bluray firmware? Or did I misunderstand? I.e. root has already stopped working on latest?

There will be NEW root that will work on your bluray but ONLY if you have blocked updates on router correctly :)
