Try to use another USB or USB-HDD fat32 formatted. isn`t Your usb not to slow?
Do you tried older versions?

You can patch your firmware with "Alternate Way" than you could start to load this plugin at each start automatically.
You can write to NAS devices directly with this utility. It's working on me (with 8.1 version.)

We are all could mount NFS and CIFS, so there must be problem on your setup.
