Well, no luck so far with downgrade to 0000. Once it doesn't see the files on USB whereas the other time al looks good, I've got percentage progress on the update and at the end it fails... Anyone had the same issue?

With ES8000 series it work prety well. I have done it a few times.
Try with a fresh new FAT or FAT32 USB.

marobo, have you managed to downgrade with 0000 firmware? Has anyone tested downgrading from 2015.5 firmware from december and march?

ben, not yet. Didn't have much time to check miazza's advice. Hopefully will get on to that this week.

I need to try 2006 from 2003. Does anybody know if root is lost during firmware upgrade ?
It's quite annoying to reinstall all from backup...

No need to reinstall "all", just backup your /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/user/SamyGO/data/128mb.xfs and replace it in installation widget if ever you need to reinstall it. So that you'll find everything in state even if you lost root

In this xfs image in which you'll all what you find in folder "mnt" - Some (very) few files are not saved in the SamyGo image.

Maybe you did some changes to run.sh in folder \mtd_rwcommon\widgets\user\SamyGO - (as I did it)
mtd_rwarea is also not saved in image - Here is file smb_userdata - But this remains untouched during FW upgrade for sure.
