No, just a blank screen even with the rooting USB unplugged. The root still works, I checked the FTP connection.

Did you try "double region change" trick? And reinstalled Skype ?

Not yet. I remember that you or someone else wrote here, that even the trick doesn't delete all SamyGO files from tv. That's why I asked before doing anything, if I can delete them also somehow.
When I tried to find the post again, I found another:

At first I thought it can't help, because you said that everything is on the USB and I have my problem even with the USB unplugged. But when I disabled the 04_04_samba.init script, it looks like it works now. I guess the DS Video app uses also samba and that's the problem. Now I will try to disable all the scripts I don't use to make TV faster. Do I need something more than telnet for the PVRDecoder? The list of scripts is rather obsolete:

Anyway, my problem is probably solved and I can keep the root.

Hey everyone,
today I recognized I lost root. No FTP,Telnet access. PVR Recordings blocked.No update was made and im still on MST 2130.
OTA,TON,Watchdog disabled.

Everything worked fine for a week. Rootet 2606.2 with new rooting method, then downgraded, and rootet with Skype Method.
When I start Install Samy GO App it tells me, Skype is not in Autostart.
Is there any way of SAVE Skype/root reset, except Factory Reset? I don't want to brick my TV

Factory reset has no effect on Skype anyway. Known way to revive it is to change Smarthub region twice (to another, then back to your own), reinstall Skype properly until it works and you can set autostart, then relaunch rooting widget.

Forgot to say...already made this region change a couple of times to reset, but Skype ist just always loading. So I can't activate Autostart. Factory reset worked for me a year ago, but since I know it could brick my TV I'm aware of it.

Well, if you had deleted /mtd_rwarea/network/runSamyGO.sh as advised, and do factory reset without any rooting USB plugged, from reports you shouldn't brick your TV, but I take no responsibility

Did a factory reset today without brick.
The Reset worked for me. TV ist rooted again. Thank you!

I too successfully downgraded from 2606 to 2130 and I'm currently trying to root via the Skype method. I deleted /mtd_rwarea/network/runSamyGO.sh as advised, and prepared my USB for the Skype root. However, I seem to have a problem - I can't install Skype from SmartHub. It downloads, shows install progress for ~10s and then finishes with "Failed to download.(1003)". SmartHub reports it is using 162.79MB out of 1.2GB.

I did a packet capture. As far as I can see, it starts the download, gets about 500K of data (out of ~14MB), and then the connection closes:

Has anyone experienced this before? I'm guessing it's a temporary network problem and I will try to install it again later, but maybe its a known issue...

Edit: Strange - I managed to install a 64MB app without issues. Also installed facebook without issues. Will keep trying, maybe it's a transient problem in Amazon's cloud.

Edit2: Forgot to mention - after the firmware downgrade, I did not reset to factory defaults, and OTN update was still off (didn't need to explicitly set it to off). Should I have reset to factory defaults, or it doesn't matter in this case?

Will samygo work for me and which manual should I use to upgrade.

There are many posts here and I don't want to use the wrong one since I am new with this.
