Re: [App] Rooting E and F Bluray
Ok so I just wanted to update you I actually was successful in rooting one of my E-6500's... it appears that this root is compatible with the model with 256mb of ram or the real old model lol meaning there are two versions of this bluray player one is newer that has 1 gig of free memory for smart hub that model is the model that keeps failing to root. I hope I can find a way to get that one to root as well ill keep you posted if not I'm gonna have to wait hopefully one of you programming geniuses can fix it =) oh both players are on the same exact firmware and I verified on the one that is older with 256mb of free ram that I have root by accessing it with telnet and it was a successful connection.

Re: [App] Rooting E and F Bluray
Ok I can't seem to figure this out I successfully rooted one of my E-6500's but now I want to install samyGOrc but the instructions are saying that I have to copy the executable to the directory /mnt/opt/privateer/usr/bin when I try to copy to that directory using my FTP client Filezilla I get a 550 error and if I try to create that directory it gives me the same error... I don't get what I'm doing wrong I already know the root is working because my cinavia patch is working and my telnet so id really appreciate some assistance =) thanks =)
Re: [App] Rooting E and F Bluray
/mnt/ on E-BD player is /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/, follow procedure by replacing every instancecomputersteve wrote:Ok I can't seem to figure this out I successfully rooted one of my E-6500's but now I want to install samyGOrc but the instructions are saying that I have to copy the executable to the directory /mnt/opt/privateer/usr/bin when I try to copy to that directory using my FTP client Filezilla I get a 550 error and if I try to create that directory it gives me the same error... ok so I put the file samyGOrc in /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin but I'm still getting an error its /bin/sh: samyGOrc: not found
Re: [App] Rooting E and F Bluray
mmmh maybe it's not in path, once you've set file permissions, change dir:computersteve wrote:ok so I put the file samyGOrc in /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin but I'm still getting an error its /bin/sh: samyGOrc: not found
Code: Select all
cd /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin

./samyGOrc -p $(pidof exeDSP) 31; ./samyGOrc -p $(pidof exeDSP) 59

Ok I'm able to cd into the directory and when I run your command I get this error...
/mtd_exe # cd /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin
/mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin # ./samyGOrc -p $(pidof exeDSP) 31; ./samyGOrc -p $(pidof exeDSP) 59

Looks like samyGOrc binary is not suitable to your BD player. Anyway out of my understanding, sectroyer?

Re: [App] Rooting E and F Bluray
is there any easy way to get a bluray player into the service menu when you have root lol other then this method.. I don't have access to an android phone I do have an original remote you know the one that came with the player but theres no other way?
Re: [App] Rooting E and F Bluray
All "known" ways are already in wiki. If you don't have an Android phone, building your own IR transmitter costs about $1 and requires *very little* soldering skill
