I tried it using the files and steps in this thread and it didn't work. I posted the details on another thread.

I think I figured out this isn't going to happen on BD-E5900. the main JS depends on the Skype widget which this player does not seem to have. I suspect that and other things are coming into play. So much for that. I'm out 10 bucks.

Nah this rooting doesn't require Skype. Anyway no idea why it fails for you...

What information can I provide to get beyond this point? When I was poking around the password protect data file it had a libskype.so and the run.sh also makes mention of skype. I also noticed in the js file the label for the app comes up as as F Series. Is that the correct one for E Series Blurays?

If your donation was validated, you'd have a purple nickname. Did you leave your nickname as comment on Paypal? Else contact admin (erdem_ua), as well if you find it takes too long.

No, Skype is not used at all on E/F bluray rooting, files and code are only remnants of TV's method.

OK. So what can I do to get past this point? Is there anything I can try or provide to troubleshoot further here?

Well I guess there is nothing more to be said. Seems like the general consensus is if its not working then oh well. Guess my BD-E5900 isn't getting rooted. PS: I also went as far as resetting the device options and the ones for smarthub and that did nothing as well.
