I tried to install the 11.4 which was sucesfull but the commands with the 11.4 are not compatible such as aptitute is in 11.4 apt-get
aptitude and apt-get are the same for you. You can use either apt-get, or aptitude to install packages on Ubuntu.

Please, use text formatting tags for Code, Quote and other.

Thank You!

Just use SamyGO Expansion Pack and read our Wiki pages. Thats all.
Off course I know that is changeable but I thought it too hard thing to do. At least require hand made eeprom flasher coding for USB. But I definitely don't aware if some eeprom flashing tools already available for wifi dongles and if this is quite easy task to do. Sorry for saying "not possible" instead of explaining things from long way..
Anyway I'm happy with result. juuso also work as ECC (error check and control) module of me :) He is the Joker of the forum :) but this is good one instead of batman films. :D

Sorry, i could post some instructions earlier... I`ll do it (translate manual from russian site and add notices from my own experience too)
All what we need is linux only... and wifi driver, compiled with e2p enabled setting (os\linux\config.mk). That allows you to re-write required eeprom area with values you want and VID&PID are being changed permanently.
We don`t need neither firmware flashers, nor programmers and so on...

I think I needed to buy one from Dlink DWA-125 or DWA-140 just dongles for experimenting eeprom change...
I don't want to believe if it could changed with ifconfig command. It doesn't needed to be so easy :)

It's better to have this in Wiki page with list/table to identify which dongles work with this way and which ones doesn't...
Why Edimax-uN7711 doesn't working. Doesn't they same dongle with different names.

This doesn`t needed to be rewritten. Just might other HW version.

Believe me...

Actually i was able to rewrite required areas, i did that. But somehow it was rewritten not with values i wanted, but some other. I recompilled the linux driver with new unrecognized VID&PID and i still use it. But w/o custom driver it is like broken. Neither linux, nor windows couldn`t accept this dongle

manual is needed to fill up, here are some underwater stones to be noticed.
DWA-160 is being recognized as samsung`s native and doesn`t need to be re-flashed. The same with dwa-140 H/W rev B. (or A? need to check).
So re-flashing (or changing eeprom value) is needed on DWA-125 and 140 H/W rev A (or B..?) :)
thanks!

But at here, user said that just changed DWA 160 code for make it work with C550. Or google translate wrongly?
Also I indicate the situation at Notice section.

Added another warning line to try dongle first. Since we don't know which one works withouth change actually, it's better to test those dongles first... :)
