it is your choice. If you feel better, you can think it does not work.

ASAP we post rooting method, your TV gets silent firmware autoupdate from samsung with "bugfixes" and then you will say again the same - "It does not work". Imagine the whole...

No need to push. Just wait and trust. Or if you have some better ideas - tell us :)

Hi juusso,
samsung's hosts blocking method wouldn't be enough to stop updates ?

If you blocked the hosts on your router everything is alright.

I've blocked the Samsung hosts before first powering on and I'm on the firmwareversion that's delivered - thanks to this forum!

My concerns are about Samsung finding a way to prevent root once it's made public via the smart-hub functionality. They've uninstalled skype-app although the Samsung host's were blocked...

Samsungs hosts for the Apps are different to the 2 blocked hosts which are blocked for the firmwareupgrade.

For blocking Samsung I've added:

msecnd.net
samsungotn.net
http://www.samsungotn.net
test.samsungotn.net

My router prevents direct access for 'hardcoded' ip-adressess without using dns, there were two adresses also blocked: 104.25.80.14 and 104.25.81.14

To minimize tracking I've also blocked:

google-analytics.com
googlesyndication.com
adservices.google.com
googleadservices.com
quantserve.com
scorecardresearch.com
revsci.net
doubleclick.net
