Sounds like a good option, however, eligibility (for me) depends on the size of the device.
The tuner I work with now (TBS5980) is very small and can be tucked away nicely behind my TV. A big device won't fit.
Downside is a LOT of hassle to get the equipment going. As you may have noticed, I'm not in a hurry. I work on this particular project on and off.
Got the hardware working (more or less), now the streaming code is subject of my efforts. Things are going slowly, but surely
