Is your HW has a ethernet port? If there is an ethernet port, you can use Telnet Enabler application instead of ExLink cable.

Don't you have "Content" button at your remote? Press that button. An after press left than enter buttons once. (CONTENT->LEFT->ENTER->USB->Games (or gallery))
If your TV has no contents menu, than its look like hard to play "Telnet Enabler" application.
Better to use ExLink/Console method...

I think this problem could handled with upgrading model to B650 from service menu. Yes its really dangerous and could brick your device. But 6000 series can upgrade itself as 7000 series. Also B550 can upgrade model via changing its model number to B650 from service menu. But better approach for starting telnet is using console way via ExLink cable.
