If your TV bricks, you couldn`t repair it neiter with nor without cable. Because now you have very restricted firmware on board where u-boot is removed and shell over exlink is dissabled.
Don`t remove telnet enabler from TV`s memory, it could be your chance to repair TV if it bricks (little chance to repair, but still remaining).

So i would recommend to use FFB - it gives possibility to repair TV at all (over cable, but you want get chance to repair or not?).

You don`t need to buy/build exlink right now. Just in case.

If you`re scared, keep hands from TV away.
