If you mean that the FaNet 'Info' command is working, but not the 'Factory' one, then yes, TDM is the only solution.
That means that Samsung has removed it from the latest firmwares :(

I'm surprised that they also have removed 'Info' : they cannot completely remove FaNet as it is used in some home automation systems.
Could you pls try with key '1' ?

Will do and report back. I think I gonna open that BDP and do the serial thing just hope I don't destroy it..

EDIT:

Sorry but still nothing. The LED is flashing so it sends it to the BDP but nothing happens or appears.

Is it possible that they may changed the USB cable direction ?

[solved]Uhm and is there a trick how to open the e6500? there is just a screw.. Don't like to break any of the case.
Remove the side cover first gently pull the clips on the buttom of the BDP, 3 of them each side, while removed you can pull the clips from the case top at both sides and one at the rear.

there are labels 20_Tx 19_Rx GND on the left of the the grill.....maybe there you find the signals. Can you confirm oga83?

I agree, that's a good start :)

For aditional safety, use 100 ohms resistors on RXD and TXD when you connect your cable to theses pads.
Of course, only connect RXD, TXD and GND and nothing else ;)

You can first start with only TXD (connected to RX on your cable) and GND, and check that you see something at boot time.
For the connection settings, use 115200 bds, 8 bits, 1 stop, no parity and no flow control.
