Patch seems working pretty well:

I wasn't able to make it work with 3009, so I did downgrade to 3005. Rooted via internet hack... Updated to 3009 and the same usb (same files - untouched) was accepted by the TV. Did an update to 3011 and now all is OK. Still no idea what went wrong.

i was just about to say that i could create a dd-image for the manual HoMo hack method and you could try to wirte it back to your usb with dd
manual way should still work with all fw versions...
i'll update my test results for this app later
oh, looks like i don't know where to find it... github?
