There are many different benefits to rooting your TV.
The key-benefit for ME, is access to the recordings I make on the TV.
After using a decoding tool, i can copy the recording to my NAS for long-term storage.
Another benefit is that you can map shared folders on your network for the TV to use.
In other words, it will allow you to play files stored "anywhere" on your network.
Go spend some time on this forum, and find relevant information ..

I Have a UE46F6340 with Software version T-MST12DEUC-1111.1.
Rooting was no Problem, everything worked perfectly.
Therefore many thanx
When I try to logon to develop I could not set a password, that was my problem at the beginning.

Anybody brave enough to test on firmware 1117? (Tempted to do it for my um UE40F6320 But I am obviously going to do a lot of research first before I do it)

I've got 1117 today with the TV update function. I'm from Germany and my TV is a UE40F6270.
Login with develop-account do not work on 1116 and neither on 1117. When I enter develop for email I can't enter the password. I tired to enter the pw first and this seems to work. But I can't access the radiobuttons for "sign me in automatically" and "remember my pw". When I press "login" the TV shows that I'm logged in as develop. But when I install the SamyGo Widget It do not appear in the app-list. I've tried it 5 times.

Mine is F8000 and the latest fw is still 1113.
Try only username develop (no email) and no password. Just develop and sign in. After that use the PC software to connect the TV to the PC with the widget. And should work
