Is there any chance I can use my TV with connected mass storage as a samba server ?

I found an old copy of the xfinity TV app from 2011 that loads on my F8500 TV, but it only offers old, obsolete shows that won't play. Does anyone know where I can get an up to date version? It might not work, but it can't hurt to try.

Last Week i rooted my ES6100 very well and send files from tanjasoft and all work great!!
Today i tried the same in my other ES6100 (Bedroom) and root ok, tanjasoft Files send ok, Telnet for permissions, don't work. no Telnet no port 23 access.

I tried re-install skype and widget. - No Telnet
I tried replace the Skype start in /mtd_rwcommon/moip/engines/Skype/ - No Telnet

Anything more?

Firmware 0000 is not compatible with your TV, and your current firmware is not compatible with this root method.
