activate hotel mode, in service menu-hotel mode-slone tv to usb.
than you can change tv model.
I have the latest fw, 3005.
But no idea, if it?s safe way to install skype.
other problem, if you change Tv model to UC7000, UC7700, UC8700, UC8000 picture will be not the best quality (if you understand)

Workaround against this check will not be easy (changing model string in factory menu being not recommended, for obvious reasons). It's probably performed on boot time, and patching exeDSP binary in /mtd_exe partition is AFAIK not an option in C-Series due to authld.
mayby patching in memory like rsadisabler is possible, but isnot perssistant ... maybe later we can patch whole firmware

On Samsung UK they advert Skype for C750 model - maybe changing the country will work too?
