It doesn't work with most mobile devices, they NEVER have an high audio level...
It's absolutely needed that no "effect" is applied on audio out for it to work, you should try to play waves with Audacity, for example, instead of VLC.
Then, if it still doesn't work, 2 possibilities:
-Your IR blaster is out of order (you can check this by filming it in darkness while playing waves, most digital cameras catch IR )
-Most likely, it's confirmed you don't have enough volume on audio out (in practice, near to ear-destroying loudness is needed, check with *real* headphones )

I finally managed to make it work using my Asus TF101 with a preamp built-in. The IR blaster worked with the Samsung logo inverted and near the red led.

Edit 24-Oct-2014: I finally managed to root the F8000. Operation complete. Telnet, FTP, shell browser and file manager confirmed to work. Will check other features soon. Thanks for providing the hack!

Does a firmware update (F8090) with USB and/or (W-)LAN delete without traces any installed extra features (like samygo, oscam, decrypting while download a TS with PVR tool, etc.), too?

Do I have to disable OTN updates in extended service menu again after each update?

Usually no. Removing widget will do.

Mostly yes, but not systematic, depends on TVs. You should always check though.

Best option is still not to upgrade at all.

I cannot access the advanced service menu (see topic viewtopic.php?f=66&t=7974) anymore with FW 1120.4 on F8090.

Does anybody have the same problem with this firmware? -> Service menu only.

Finally I can confrim, extended service menu access is still possible! - OTN was after the update to 1120.4 (F8090) still off. But, as zoelechat said, it is better to check this option once again.

I updated, because the gesture function and zapping through smart-hub lead to a restart of the TV sometimes. But root is said to be possible with this version. I will check this later ...

If downgrade was possible, there wouldn't be warnings everywhere
Did you apply "FOR E-SERIES" procedure at the bottom of first post? Other methods stamped MST/non-MST (->F series) don't fit your TV model.

I Installed SamyGo multiple times but without luck.
It tels me that all files been activated and restarted my tv, but without ftp acces.
The following files of my samygo are (NO):
Samygo1.txt (NO)
Samygo2.txt (NO)
rcSGO (NO)
