Thank you for your reply. I did start Skype quite a few times now and still there is no AutoStart file created. Any idea why? Should I post my skype version and firmware version?

If you really, really want to check edit file Main.js on usb and change this:

exists(skypePath + "/runSamyGO.sh");

to this:

currentStep += exists(skypePath + "/runSamyGO.sh");

Edit ONLY wiht notepad++

Yes I was thinking at skipping the step counter check but was not sure if the root depends on having autostart somehow hooked up so the new so gets called. Anyway, I will give it a try.

Update for non MST
all GFS/GFP users (NON MST), please try new updated samyext4.img
Just keep in mind: after you install rooting widget and run it, do not power off TV, but set sheduled power on via EPG timer. Wait for TV start and check ssh on port 22...

I've tested for T-GFP8DEUC, no luck, no changes: Skype is in autostart, "TV fast start" disabled, application from flash - without errors, TV turned off via remote control, turned on via schedule, no reboots, no logs on flash, no telnet, Skype is on "loading..." screen.

Seem stable works on MST14 and GFS up to now. Try to unplug from electricity for few minutes.

Everything said ok: tv didn't restart few times or anything happened. I got ok on everything though.

well thats just the problem, i run skype and it stalls at the skype splash screen and hasnt gone any further... are there different versions of skype that i could try ? or which version should i install

So I can confirm that it does not work with my tv: T-GFP9AKUC Fw Ver: T-INFOLINK2014-1020. Unless anyone thinks I did something wrong and wants to walk me trough again here are the steps I followed:
a. Prepared USB as per guide
b. Made sure skype is installed and there is an account set-up. There is no option for autostart that I could find.
c. Disabled quick start-up

1. Fixed the javascript check for skypepath AutoStart so it passes that step anyway
2. Run the InstallSamygo app and everything was [OK]
3. Set the timer to start in 3 minutes from time of install.
4. Powered off tv.
5. TV started but no ssh on port 23. Also there was no crash/reset of tv as per the guide. Skype does crash when you start it.

More info: afterwards I did reset smarthub. Started skype which hangs on the splash screen. When running again the samygo app to root the device it shows again that there is no AutoStart file. This is interesting: if all apps were reset why wasn't skype functioning? But if skype wasn't reset why was the AutoStart file removed?



So if there is anymore help or anyone has any other ideas let me know. I do not mind helping if needed.
