It seems no, not a matter of model but fw 2134 is too recent. You still can try, who knows, with a bit of luck

You should try auto on timer it might work Everything described in first post You might also have to set "instant on" to ON it's rumored that without it it might not work

Recording device is needed for root, but you do not want to waste two USB sticks? There is a solution. Make two partitions on the stick, format both with fat32. Insert stick into TV, it will be recognized as two USB devices. Format one of them for recording and use the second one for the SamyGo files.
Successfully tested on my TV.
