out of curiosity, i purchased one of the ex-link-usb cables from FTDI. i dont know if theres anything that i can try using that, but im willing to.

Not really but on my HU9000 it doesnt' work
. So if things are the same it might not work on HU7500.

Try changing the setting Menu->System->General->"Samsung Instant ON" to off, if you have it on your TV. It may trigger the rooting process. No guarantee, but it is worth trying.
