Yeah you need to hit "REC" on remote

My remote doesn't have rec. If I click rec on the screen remote it will start the recording on the cable box not on the tv.

AFAIK recording is generally disabled (because legally unallowed?) on North American models, yes.

Wow. So any way to enable it. Now this might be the cause rooting doesn't work.

No luck on a 65F9000 w/SEK-2500 - basically a H series. Running same firmware as some H/HU models (T-GFP9DEUC_1210). Didn't expect it to work as other non MSTs don't but.. It's a bummer going from a rooted (or ftpable) F-series to a non-rooted 4k model.

If you need help with any testing in this configuration let me know, I know my way around

Same as mine. Press "Pause". Pause=timeshift=recording.

as it was previously suggested you can use pause. But you have ONLY this remote? I have the same one but I also have a second one WITH rec button

If you want to enable it, you might check in (extended) service menu (where you've already disabled OTN/OTA) to find option(s) about PVR, such as "num of PVR" or something like this. No idea of the exact procedure, especially on a nearly "unknown" model like yours, but there are already many threads about that

Ehhhh. I can't understand why so technologically advanced country disabled PVR, still doesn't use NFC in credit cards and is so slow on implementing chip credit cards
