Wow thanks much for clearing that up about putting the number in the router alone which worked like a charm.

My next problem is cant figure out how to stop the bd d6500 to turn off or stop from asking to update !!

Please advise.
1. Are the BD '65' firmware downgrades still available?

2. Please describe the settings needed for a BD-D6500 with linksys router and arris modem (TWC). I get "no updates available" currently. I am stuck with 1023 now due to standby updates. Please help.

Thanks in advance.
you device has firmware installed from what no downgrade is supported (SWU_B-BRCM65BSP_001023_I05_ES000DS000KS000BS000RS000_120203)

sry.

I've tried reboots and complete power off. Any ideas please?
i the first post in this thread is a list of firmwares what are supported for downgrade.
is your devices firmware listed?
you can check what firmware your device has on the samsung site, like: http://www.samsung.com/de/support/model ... -downloads (then check the firmware file there)

Just seen your reply, thanks anyway. I guess no chance of fixing this. Do you recommend other units that have the benefits of earlier models that are under $100? I am not looking for online content, just the ability to use a USB drive with media formats and discs of course.

Thanks again

what i can you "offer" is that you can play "guinea pig" :-)
i can enable firmware downgrade for your device. i saw some successful downgrades but also one brick (btw. not 100% sure brick came due different count of firmware images it can had other reason too, but its now global disabled for safety).

Thank you for the offer. I understand the risks and accept them although I am a little unsure how to modify my network settings to access the file. I understand it as a change in the router DNS and an auto detect on the BD player. I am not sure that is right.

Thanks for the kind attention.

depends how you router internal working, normally it's enough to change just dns server setting on your bd-player.
in some situation you need this to do also un your router.
Thanks for the kind attention.
firmware is now enabled for your device, pls. report if it's a brick after downgrade or not.

ps: maybe a factory reset on your bd-player is required before you start to downgrade, so the device deletes cached information about firmware version.

Hello, new to this forum, who seems to be the only help against Cinavia problem in Samsung BD players and their awful software upgrades.

I have a BD-5100 with 1021.1

Do you know any successful downgrade attempt for this BD? I read about the previous discussion in this forum about BD-5100. Is it a dead end?

Would it be possible to download these downgrade files and put them into a USB, then attempt to downgrade from it?

Thanks for your help. I hope there is still a way for fixing this.

Here is a pic with further system info from my BD player.

Hello,

I have a HT-D5500. My Firmware is 1014. I have changed the DNS setting and am able to select software update. It says downloading version 001112 but never moves beyond 0%.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
