Hi All,
Looking for some help please.

I have rooted a HT-E5550 blu ray and followed the Autostart instructions (after rooting), etc., but when I play a Cinavia movie from USB the Cinavia message still pops up and the movie stops. I get no errors with copying the files to /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin and /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/etc/init.d (and then applying the permissions), but when I restart the blu ray play with the movie usb in, cinavia is still there?

Can someone please shed some light on what I'm doing incorrectly so I can remove Cinavia once and for all? :)

Thanks for your help

Just a question: You didn't unplug rooting USB, right? :)

Hi, yes I did after restart to put the other USB in with the movie. Should the movie be on the same rooting USB?

Also, do I have to open the Web Browser each time for a Cinavia movie and then go back to All Share to play the movie?

Thanks

Just tested with the movie on the same rooting USB and Cinavia is still there (after opening Web Browser and going back through All Share).

Yes, no rooting USB plugged=no root=no cinavia removal.

I think so.

Verify that you still have root, it's possible that you have to restart whole procedure from scratch if ever you unplugged root USB while player was ON.

Hi zoelechat,
Thanks for the help.

Is there a way to PERMANENTLY root and remove Cinavia via firmware or something so the USB stick isn't required each time?

Yes. but only if you have knowledge to that. Other wise you are risking bricking your device and I won't risk your device :)
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Thanks for your consideration :)

If there isn't a permanent fix then, am I doing something wrong? Do I have to root and telnet EVERYTIME I have a Cinavia movie to watch?

Nope, you can use autostart method from first post :)

Hi,
Ok, after rooting I connect via Telnet; all ok!

Then, I do the following:

copy only the "cinaviapatch" file to /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin
copy only the 99_99_CinaviaPatch.init file to /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/etc/init.d

I then do the following for permissions:

chmod +x /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin/cinaviapatch
chmod +x /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/etc/init.d/99_99_CinaviaPatch.init

Then, for a test, I do the following:

start /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/etc/init.d/99_99_CinaviaPatch.init

and get the following error:
/mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/bin/sh: start: not found

Also, after a restart the "cinaviapatch" no longer appears in /mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO_mount/opt/privateer/usr/bin

Your help is appreciated; thanks.
