Owning both a PS64F8505 and a UE48H6600, I need to tell you :

1) Both TV?s are rooted (and both working well with the PVRDecoder).
2) Neither of those TV?s have ever been anywhere near a LAN-cable :-)
3) Both TV?s are on N-class WiFi and everything is working most excellent :-)

Thanks :-)

On F you don't use latest rooting method :) Latest F rooting method has problems with WiFi :) Everything explained in first post :)

is there chance to save untouched firmware after rooting so if things go wrong (tv suddenly restarts, shuts down or something) to get original stock firmware back ?

what does factory reset in service menu do, maybe reverting original fw ?

my tv is under warranty for next year and half, so im in little doubt.

Rooting/SamyGO doesn't change anything to firmware. Stop asking always the same questions and give it a go :)

Factory reset resets TV settings to factory defaults and doesn't touch firmware either.

Autostart widget is not supposed to appear nor exist on MST models, follow first post carefully please.

If you see virtual usb, it means root was successful. Check "features" from this post to know how to use samba and so on...
You might also check [F] Software and Extras forum sections to collect some usable patches.

Again, THERE'S NO AUTOSTART WIDGET ON MST, it's not needed so there's no point in trying to find it. :)

Anticipation tip: NEVER use Windows Notepad to edit any file, use Notepad++ and verify that linefeeds are set to UNIX format.

Hello everyone,

I have thoroughly read this thread (I hope) and can't find my problem described anywhere. When starting the app, I make it as far as the three text files being there (/dtv/SamyGO_OK, SamyGO1/2.txt) after the second reboot, but no /mnt/rcSGO. Everything green except the last step in the first phase, so to say. What's worse, after rebooting the TV it turns off automatically after a little more than 120 seconds (sleep time...). Something seems to be very wrong.

I have uninstalled the app in less than 120 seconds and am fine again for the time being, as far as basic TV functionality is concerned. Can anyone help me out? I am too scared to continue from here and wreck the TV after all.

I am using a FAT32 stick, OTN is off, firmware is 2102 for ue46f6270. I have taken the files from post 848 in this thread, and also tried the new samylib.zip provided earlier. I have the same phenomenon reported earlier of being able to use telnet, 5032 for roughly two seconds before losing the connection. In this time, I can set off a single command, but the time does not suffice to run the entire run/run1.sh, for example.

Are we really sure that "nothing can happen" because "everything is on the stick"? I am wondering because even after uninstalling the app through Smart TV, I find files such as /dtv/samyGO_OK, the lib in /mtd_rwcommon/emps/empBrowserCommonPlugin/plugins etc. still there, even though at least /dtv/ was said to be temporary. I can only remove them through a 5032 connection one at a time. What files are being copied from the stick to other places on the TV, and to where exactly? Should they not be removed by the uninstallation process?

So far, it's $10 thrown out of the window, but I don't want to give up just yet. Thanks.
