I don't know do you need root in your TV after 20s or after 90s? If 20 - Yes you need Skype.
Better because If you want to downgrade by old method you will have to make wifi root and then add libdowngrade and then downgrade the firmware, but with 0000 firmware you will be able to downgrade it without root - it will be faster

When you remove USB when TV is ON you will damage it. (all files is on this drive)

Hello. I have several questions before approaching to the root process. I'm on FW 2606.2, should I use this thread's newer method? Then is it needed to downgrade to 2130? at least to extract encryption key for media playback, or edit some video "SOURCE" entries.

Now I'm a bit lost on two contradictory (or not) steps. Should I do the "recording USB" step between steps 5 and 6? Then it asks to go to smart HUB (I thought it was kind of automatic process when TV was powered ON).

And at last, is it required to have the root USB permanently plugged in order to use the TV (for example with working edited "SOURCES")?

PD: What logs do you need for step 18 (in case they are needed). The ones in step 12 or in step 13? In case of 13, can we thrash those of step 12?

I don't understand you, You asked about downgrade the firmware, and I told you if you need quick time to have root (for example if you want to use oscam it is nice to have it quick), if not you can still have 2602.2 with wifi root, but if you want to use LAN cable you will have to use viewtopic.php?f=70&t=9692
If you want to have secound USB for rec. some movies you should make it before root. When you plug in your USB (with root) to TV you should go to smart hub, and run Install SamyGO

Of course it's very simple you did NOT disable OTN Support and did NOT block updates on router. In first posts it's CLEARLY explained that you are REQUIRED do so to have root So simply NO DISABLE = NO ROOT

The TV OTN option was already grayed out and I DID block updates on router. Am I in a situation that is now currently unrootable?

HI, Last weekend I half root my tv ue50hu6900, firmware T-NT14UDEUC-1020.4 I can't find vermagic. Telnet and ftp work but not ssh, upload and configure oscam. All is ok, but oscam work 40 secs and stop. Upgade TV with 1024.4, In Telnet every command - > Terminated. Reroot TV, nothing hapened. On USB rename InstallSamyGo and SamyGO and again extract 2 directoryes, Now on Smarh HUB I have 2 icons on SamyGo, rooting procedure pass, and I have vermagic. Now everything working OK, oscam too, but in smartHUB 2 icons. If I remove renamed directoryes on rooting USB, in SmartHub will stay one icon?
