Hello, I intend to buy Samsung UE28J4100 and I want to ask if the patch for the subtitles size and color will work for this tv. Also, I am not a complete newbie about applying custom firmwares on a tv but I don't know the exact procedure. Is there a complete video guide for newbies so as to prevent any possible damage to tv?

On J you are NOT able to disable OTN Support so you should block updates on router ASAP. That's The ONLY way to get what you want!!!!

the model I want to buy is not wifi-ethernet supported so no problem there. I just want to change subtitles size. Nothing else.
In order to apply the subtitles patch, does my tv need to be rooted? In order to be rooted, I must use a custom firmware? For european model, which custom firmware should I use?

Any simple guide for newbies for the above questions?

Same goes for J and former series: never hope for any root or extra features on non-Smart TV.
