My C550 LCD does not allow me to view anything fom a USB drive that's over 2hrs in length. When it reaches the mark, it just crashes and resumes playing from the start of the file. I already did a fw upgrade sometime ago (currently on T-MSX5DEUC-2011.0), but the only thing it corrected was the ability to play .mkv files.

I searched over and over but Sammy's page is of no help at all, given this is an old model and I'd like to settle this once and for all as it's really unnerving.
I do not have a media center nor do intent on setting one up. Plugging my laptop via HDMI is not an option because limited space. I just want to see longer movies in piece.

What USB drive are you using? Is it usb key? is it external usb disk? Is it with or without external power? How do you connect it - with two USB cables or ...?

It happens with any pen drive or my external hdd, without external power. just one cable, USB 3.0; pen drive is also the same category

Will this behaviour happen if you change USB port? Have you tried with powered USB hub? Or with powered external HDD?
