LE40B650 picture settings?

Hi! I have almost 9 years old LCD TV, Samsung LE40B650. It's been working great, but recently I noticed that sometimes picture is really ugly. I'll try to describe it. At darker scenes, you can barely see what's going on. Black picture is like it's glowing, and I don't know what's the cause of this. Does anyone have any "amazing" picture settings? I wish I could do some kind of screenshoot so I can show you what I mean.
