2. It seems I got my /mtd_rwarea corrupted while trying to hack my TV, as I said in the other thread, and now I can't Clone USB to TV from Hotel menu (it says there's an error and couldn't import settings), so no hack possible as of now.
The question is: When you install a new firmware on the TV, does the /mtd_rwarea get formated? Or it is left untouched?
Could be useful for me, so I could give another try to the Hotel mode hack until the USB to TTL adapter arrives at home.
You can format you /mtd_rwarea
just over ExLink.

10 (/mtd_rwarea/ partition number)
Firmware upgrade does not affect /mtd_rwarea so you can`t use this way to repair tv.

yes... shell on C series is limited by kernel. I know who got fully functional shell on C550, but he does not know how to repeat it. He was just playing with ExLink and accidentally got it working w/o symbol filtration. So,further research needed ...

your device is C series, its CI+ and here isn`t any CI device more.
Do not use instructions for B series. Only from C section on wiki, ok?
Shell is accessible over exlink, but with restrictions - you can`t do anything from there.
