Q70R 5.1 pass-through

From what I read there is unlikely to be a firmware upgrade (or hack) to address my problem, which is also anybody else's problem if they like real hi-fi.
It seems that The QxxR series will not pass through LPCM to a soundbar connected to the TV by HDMI ARC . I have a Q70R and a full 5.1 setup of Samsung HW-Q70R/HW-Q700B/SWA-9500S . WTF Samsung !!!
I would be thrilled if I was wrong and somebody did address this ridiculous omission/snafu/policy(?) from Samsung.
