You don't needed to firmware update.
Firstly you cannot use DLNA. It's implementation is really buggy on this TVs.
Instead you can use NFS and/or Samba for same functionality without bugs.

Just download SamyGO Expansion pack and use.
That's all.
It's better to start our WiKi pages and understand how to do that.
Good lucks.

Windows shares are Samba shares.

If you want NFS on windows, use native NFS server (on wista or 7) or some external apps like haneWIN.

You can read wiki pages.
@juuso does it require password protection for Samba shares, as it before?

@jonesblank I think you have better if you read this
advanced info also available here

Also do you sure about if your Firewall blocking access? You have better to disable firewall before try to make you sure about your (windows) firewall not make some noise...
If you have problems again, I think you needed to put your computers IP and directory by hand to Extension pack script...
Good lucks

From the wiki link you gave:

Code: Select all

mount -o user=<username>,password=<password> -t cifs //<server>/<share> /dtv/usb/sdXX/[mount_path]
Yes, i think it is good to have hidden windows account for windows shares. I do not know about samba password and all extensions, because i do not use it...here are two tests only - with password and without. And everything will be clear.
