Samsung's DLNA implentation has problems. Instead use NFS/UPNP/CIFS.

Sorry, I miss understood the situation. I think you are connected via DLNA....
I don't know whats goes wrong with UPNP. But I can run my My LExxB650 plays MKV's correctly with "NFS mount" instead of UPNP mount.
Are those files are playable on TV if they are in USB physically?

Linux distros will make your soul rest. 
uPNP could be problematic. Instead use cygwin NFS server or What about Samba / CIFS mount at your panels?
