Does anyone know the h/w differences between the 6500 and 8000. I'm guessing there is a transmitter in the 8000 for the 3D and i was wondering if anyone has seen the internals of one(8000) to see it ?

That transmitter also in 7000 series, bottom left of the screen. I can spot it with my phone camera (IR could be seen by any web/phone camaras).

I has hoping maybe for some internal shots, I know where it should be located but I wanted to see how it was connected to the board...but I can't really see anyone ever opening their tv up, so it will be a hard thing to find out

Unfortunatelly I don't have one. Just spoted on market

here, you will find teardown pictures of 46c8000 . it is in greek but gogle translater provides a reasonable translation for the page

It's recently reported that On D6000 series, it cannot show FULL HD 3D.
