First of all, you all have a done a very good job and have a very nice community here!
Now to my problem:
I noticed that in D series service menu the model is "greyed" and can't be modified.
Unfortunately after a crash, my TV bricked and I had to reset the eprom.
Now I have MODEL: NONE and TYPE: NONE
Also, in service menu, I have LOCAL SET to the wrong country.
Is there a way I can set this back?
Please help.
My 55D8000 now has no functions and flickers a lot
(I also have the serial port connected if needed)

Yes, use ruSamsungTv communicator. If no luck, you can change service menu settings using Exlink cable.

I think you should use exlink cable, you can set those parameters very easy in the TDM. ruSamsungTVcommunicator will only work if you set "Allow remote control" in the network setting of the user menu and you can't access that without a working display.

I agree, but in the serial debug menu I don't know what paremeters to change and where. Please advise.

Yes.
And it works correctly.. I already entered the code to unlock it and I'm in the main menu.
I need to set:
Model.
Type.
Local Set.
My original tv model is UN55D8000

For model:
Code: Select all
20089999
10
9
0
--->here you go<---
For model: choose 3
and here you change model by pressing 0 or 1
every press 0 and enter changes model, so you can navigate until you get right model you need. If here isn`t your required model, you have to use 1 and enter.
After you choose right model, press 99 and enter to confirm your choice.
For type: choose 1
For Local set: choose 2

Thanks. I'll go to dinner right now, after that I will setup the tv again (I put it back in the box.. I was so angry) and I'll let you know the results.
I didn't understand how to change the PANEL TYPE and TV MODEL and which values to enter for the UN55D8000

Ok.. your method does not work.
But I managed to change the model number using "option 7" and writing special items 18,19,20 and 263.
The problem now is:
1) the eco sensor does not work.
2) changing "power saving" to low/medium/high doesn't change anything.
3) the upper half of the 55" panel flickers and has a lower intensity.
I think theis motherboard/panel just is at it's defaults.. I'm not sure I will be able to put them back in a good shape.
Probably I will RMA this TV if I can.
