PVR records all digital sources. HDMI isn`t digital input, so you can`t record.
Current PVR as you say juuso, only records from TV's internal DVB tuner sources: cable/antenna/satellite.
Small correction: HDMI is a digital signal, but uncompressed (high bandwidth/bitrate). Interestingly, the D7000 & 8000 support Samsung Dual View, whereby the TV streams picture to remote network device, even picture from HDMI sources. Those TV's must have hardware to encode & compress the HDMI signal... in theory, they could be made to record it as well.
