Ok, so I have version T-GAP8AKUC 1018.4 with SamyGO app. Can I load the EU version for same display T-GAP8DEUC 1018.1 without bricking? I assume I'll have to change version number in /mtd_rwarea, anyone tried this?

I was hoping someone has tried it and survived so I don't have to be the guinea pig. I don't think it's a big risk if the hardware is the same and the TV accepts the update.

I installed T-GAS6DEUC and T-GASAKUC firmwares to my T-GAS6DAAC model. No brick.

So to load previous EU firmwares I just change the version string in /mtd_rwarea/Version.1

to
SWU_T-GAP8AKUC_001010_I04_EK000DK000KK000RK000_110808

for example? or do I need to also change AKUC to DEUC?

I wanted to try T-GAP8DEUC1018.1 because the EU software has supposedly fixed a picture quality problem that US displays have and also the EU FW provides PVR. I thought if this were doable by a simple trick I would try it.

Simple trick doesn't allow you to change firmware...

with a "sipmle trick" you can get T-GAP8DEUC-1015 not 1018....
