Did you hackers have an idea how to move the usb-port from front of the player to backside ?
What would en easy solution for this - i don`t like that cable chaos in front of my player while external drive is connected. (I?d like to have it on backside or inside the player).
Perhaps samsung uses the same board for their expensive blu ray recorders with internal drive and in the BD-d6900 is a chance to connect it internal, too ?
Any ideas ?
The problem is, that the usb-connector is fixed on the board and their is no space under the front plate to make an redirect into the player with a cable or something like that....

I got the HT-D5100 with a USB port on the front and the back like yours.
Both work with a HDD attached.
Or do you need both ports for a HDD each? If yes, I got you wrong.

BD-D6900 has only 1 USB-Port (under front plate).
My Question was if it is possible to modify the BD-D6900 to have the USB at the backside of the player to connect a hdd (or connect it inside the player).

Solder wires direct to USB port on mainboard and you get another port wherever you need. Sure only one socked can be used at same time

Or you could solder a small Usb Hub ...also put inside a small hdd and you will have spare usb for future develop.....keyb...mouse...Camera...
If you want to use the socket from front BD you should cut the incoming 2 copper lines coming to usb socket data+,data-(pins 2 and 3) and put wires from those lines to hub input(male). Then pins from Usb socket connect to one port of usb hub output(female)

Interesting - could you describe that with images ? Can not imagine what exactly to do...
