Dear All
I wuold share my experience with this special entry level TV UE32D4000 Series.
The TV has a restricted based firmware version named MSTSTAR not suitable for hacking as described in the rooting section.
In theory, besides the hardware equipment, the cited functionalities are disabled by Samsung via "Software" according with country regulations.
In order to enable these features I manage to access the Extended Service Menu of Samsung using the custom Android application for sending the FACTORY/3SPEED commands.
Once you access the extended service menu, after sending FACTORY,3SPEED commands,I was able to manage the following hidden functionalities:
DATA SERVICE SUPPORT from OFF to ON
PVR SUPPORT from OFF to ON
GEMSTAR SUPPORT from OFF to ON
NETWORK SUPPORT from None to Ext-Wifi
Once I have save the modification,(simply Turning off the TV) I do a factory Reset.
After the reset I notice a new option in the TV MENU named "Network connection ",also I notice another options one for enabling/disabling the Execution of Data Service (MHP).
Unfortunatly once I press in the RECORD stroke on the remote controller the PVR and the Samsung Guidel plus were not working as expected.
I could affirm the D4000 TV is not harware equiped for recordering (PVR) as opposite of the D5500 or greater models.
Finally I didn't try yet to connect a Samsung USB Wifi dongle for testing the internet connectivity, maybe it could works.
Thanks for the attention
Best
