If you have your tv rooted, just switch the internet region (smart hub) to Poland and you'll have all the Polish widgets at your disposal

Hmmm you have one of those "futureshop" models I think (D6003 instead of D6000). Not 100% sure what's the deal with those. Do you have a SmartHub button on the remote? Does it work?
What happens when you change the region to Poland? Does it uninstall existing stuff (like Netflix, Twitter etc) and install others? That's what it should be doing (from what I recall, that >> 289 << sequence results in a list of countries to choose from, then you get user agreements twice... then it uninstalls default (i guess canadian in your case) widgets, and installs the ones for the new country.

I'm guessing the solution was you had to exit out of SmartHub and come back in for the icons to show up
