In D6 series, there is `halved resolution` issue on 3D mode. So I can say, samsung doesn't care 3D quality. At lease low end TVs.

If you could enter "Debug Menu" than you can change some detailed picture control values for 3D mode that doesn't exist in service menu.
This might help you to increase picture quality...
But this menus are little dangerous. You can brick your TV with some wrong settings.
(If that is happen, you can also revive it by resetting eeprom.)

FWIW, there are NO such problems on my D6900, so it would be nice to stop using these generic expressions like "3D problem in _D6 series_"...

There are no such problem on TVs > 55". If you are free from those problems, than it's due screen size.
"D6 series still have this 3D problem/fraud!". Majority of D6 users has TVs < than 55" and has the issue. So it's better to keep using...

...then it would be better to use "D6 less than 55 inches". It's not THAT difficult, is it?
And people deserve to be told the WHOLE truth, don't they?

Really, it VERY difficult for an average user to find out the WHOLE truth... And it's just because everybody keeps repeating this half-truth all over the Internet :-(.

Doesn't matter since it's not D7. It still "low end" for Samsung.
For Debug Menu, you need ExLink cable. Please look to Wiki pages for instructions..

Well, actually it doesn't a "bug" rather than it's "fraud". It's not a "mistake" but something done in Samsung consciously.
I believe Samsung want to defect 3D quality on lower end TVs. With it, they create quality difference artificially between top and low end TVs and sell more price premium TVs with higher price...
This schema might fit for your device too.
