Hello.
Did anyone try to change the model name from D6000 to D6500 ?
I want to have skype support and It seems that this is the easiest way.
What functionalities do I loose ?
Are the 2 units different by the HW , or only SW changes ?

Just only if you change mainboard from D65xx-67xx. No other way. It costs you ~ 100Euro (ask on local service or buy on the internet). All connectors are ok and fits well (as i made this replacement alredy by self).

I saw this post here:

and it looked like the guy has changed the D6000 series to D6500 and the skype applet showed up... I thought it will work also on this one...

Showed up but never worked. Just icon apeared. Same with browser.

I see. That's bad news, as I've already ordered the CY-STC1100....

Don`t give up. If you have warranty and have exlink cable...

I can easily make a cable, I am an embedded engineer... but it looks like the chanses to work are minimal
I will try though...

So I see in a different post that the skype widget was working with this method. Which is great news. I hope the camera will be also recognized...

and the icon appeared but it doesn't run.
When examining the zip file, there is no 'executable' inside, just the icons and an xml which has a link to some strange website...

Is there any way to backup (copy) the widget from a supported and hacked tv , and then transfer it manually via FTP to this tv ? Maybe this way it will work , without changing the TV model...

I hadn't any success by running Skype on d6000 (same as 6100). Perhaps you are more lucky than me.

Is there a way to backup an installed widget and copy it over ftp to another device ?
This way the skype could be backed up from a working D6500 and i could try to copy it to the D6000 and see if this works.
