Just SamyConsole? For what?

Hi!

I recently installed the SamyGo widget, and I have in the Hub: ChannelInfo and SamyGo.
If I start the first nothing happens, but works 1-2 seconds, then comes back to the Hub.
If I start SamyGo, it opens a screen with just SamyConsole on the right. This is useless for me, since I have no wireless keyboard.
I actually wanted to allow unencrypted PVR on my Samsung D6500 TV, nothing else.
How can I do that, without much fussing with command prompts and keyboards?

Hello,
READ AND SEARCH FORUM AND WIKI BEFORE POSTING!!!
this is normal, when you run SamyGo Widget, you need to "install" it as in Hospitality Hack and Disable PVR, so please use search to find it

OK, I have installed this widget, named SamyGo, now I have to install other software, make a USB, switch the TV off, then ON, plug and unplug here and there, taking the risk that my TV won't even work if everything goes wrong?

No, thanks, that's enough for me. I don't want to dig myself even deeper than this in technical issues.
I will uninstall the SamyGo widget.

You can keep the widget, it make some things possible (READ WIKI), but when you want Timer Recordings you need to do USB Hack, there is also a Risk on Firmwareupdates but if you do this as described it is normaly not a problem, when you have some you can post. Do you expect someone will come to your home an do this for you? so many made this without problems, just some of them need help. hope you are reading this and try, if not our problem. There is another way, Widget autostart and program a switchon before the Timer. you might find this also when use SEARCH on top right corner.

Look, even if I1m an IT-engineer (including software developments), I1m also 50 yrs old, and have no patience with all kind of warranty risks and the similar fuss. In my opinion, if an average user has to read more than one page (cca. 1500 characters) user instructions to use an application, that's a bad application. There is no more user friendliness.
The software must be intuitive, or must offer wizzards etc.
I stay too much in front of the PC to accept more harm to my eyes and vision. Actually, I also wrote this opinion of mine to Microsoft, for example. I have learned Word, Excel, Access, Power Point etc. so now I know the basics of how to use a Windoes application. (And a Samsung TV widget must be even simpler than that.) They can publish books with 500 and 1000 pages for their new software, I won't read them.

THEREFOR, I opted for the simpler soultion in this case, too: I bought a $150 media player and recorder, and will do the job with that.
I needed SamyGo for PVR, but having an external recorder I can do the job in an easier and more convenient way.

We`re trying to make SamyGO more user friendly, your notices are ok, accepted.
This is TV hacking comunity. Hack is in the first place, documentation (apologize) - not, but not because we don`t want to do this more simpler and easier for users, but because of missing resources to do this (developers, time, active users willing to help usw). As you`re IT engineer you should know - coding makes more fun than creating manuals. This is why the described methods require deeper knowledge of unix, researching on the forum and wiki. You did your deal - got external player and i wish you good luck using it :)
