Serial cable is not required for flashing firmware. You can flash new firmwares via USB stick.

As long as everything goes well, you won't really need the serial cable.
However, consider that the smallest typo can lead to a bootloop situation and this is when you'll wish you had a serial cable at hand to fix the situation.

The risk is yours ... but no risk no fun ;-)

Hi gingi23,

on the CI+ devices extra steps were taken by Samsung to prevent access into their systems, in order to comply with the CI+ specifications. Thus things like debug console etc. seem to be entirely disabled and the FW of those devices is SSL encrypted.

We are at the moment not able to get access to those devices YET!
This is the reason, why the title in our WIKI is explicitly stating "Enable Serial Console on non CI+ Devices"

I have solution for accessing CI+ devices, but requires some soldering skills.
