movie playback from xfs extarnal drive

Hello,
I've downgraded the UE37D6000 to version 1011 and I've installed samygo.
I have an external drive connected, and I would like to copy and watch movie from it.
The problem is the following:
FAT32 is recognized in videos folder, however there is a 4gb limitation -> for hd movies it's not good
NTFS is also recognized from in videos folder, but it's read onlly
Then I've formatted to xfs.
Now everything is good, in /dtv/usb/sda it shows up (also in dmesg it shows that the partition was recognized) , can copy files to it, but the 'tv menu' doesn't see it, so in sources list it's not selectable.
I've observed that the virtual USB contains a link to /dtv/usb/sdb/upnp/, so i've created a symlink to /dtv/usb/sda but it doesn't show up.
Any ideas how can i convince the virtual USB to show the /dtv/usb/sda path too, maybe this way i will be able to play movies from it?
Do you have a suggstion for a better movie player which can handle avi or mkv ?
