Does the firmware downgrade have any effect on smart hub and the applications? I mean can't upgrade my applications any more?

I am the same with you and so I come to find an answer.

AFAIK this shouldn`t affect any smarthub app. Smarthub is separate from firmware and upgrading/downgrading doesn`t touch any of smarthub files.
To be sure you can upgrade back to recent firmware and check once again, we still don`t know 100% about firmwares.

Moreover, if you disable firmware upgrade, smarthub apps will still automatically upgrade...

Did anyone noticed the Youtube app upgrade 2 or 3 days ago ? ... after ~9 minutes you now get a sleeping screen no way to disable it.

Interesting, you received a YouTube app update a few days ago? What version number? Whats your TV model?

Latest version available for me is v1.059 and it's completely unusable on all 2012 TV's. The screensaver is the smallest problem... It doesn't play 3D at all. UI is very slow. You have to manually select next song in playlists. Clicking Fast Forward makes the app stop completely with black screen.
I'm using the previous version (v1.041), it at least plays videos. But it has another problem, it doesn't remember sign in and pairing.

It's not a TV, it's a BD-E8300 / SmartHub v4.4621-5.0 with youtube version v1.041 (v1.059 is not available for it)
I don't know which version was installed before last automatic upgrade.
The only problem I have with it is screen saver (playlists, 3D, FF work fine).

More generally, the problem with Smarthub is that it performs automatic upgrades almost every week, and of course it occurs when you start it. At the time you want to use it, you have to wait...
