Hi,
Could anybody shed light on whether or not it is possible to change the default country on a UE40d5520 Smart TV?
I have changed the DNS settings already but obviously the inbuilt region on the TV needs to be changed to access apps from other countries.
Any help much appreciated.
Thank you!

If you're only looking to change your SmartHub country, the trick with ffwd,289,rwd should work (you enter smarthub, then press >> on the remote, then 2 8 9 then <<.... after that, you should get the list of countries and user agreements to accept/reject... after that, it'll delete your default widgets and install default widgets for country you chose.

I'd the same bother with model: UE40F8000ST
Short version. After inserting batteries in the 'smart touch' remote use one function of the remote, 'volume up' say. Then leave the remote alone for at least 30 minutes. After this it will work without further delay. Select the default country, press and hold the touch pad for a drop down menu to appear.
Granted,Samsung do say that the remote comes 'paired' and it does. I suspect though that this complex remote has a gazillion bluetooth channels that, on first use, need time to connect and initialize. A bluetooth speaker or other simpler bluetooth device typically needs 30 seconds for first use and perhaps this clever gizmo needs more time - just a thought. Whatever the reason, it did work for idiot me after I left it alone for 30 minutes. I hope this helps.
