Noob help after routing D series

I hope someone can help with my issue.

I've recently rooted my tv and have the samygo extensions installed. Problem is I dont know what I'm doing. I' read the wiki and other forum pages but they all seem to assume some prior knowledge. I don't want to ask questions that have already been answered but I'm having a bit of trouble.
Therefore can anyone suggest where to start from a basic level.

E.g. quote:
"06_05_vsftp.init.dis enables ftp acces to your tv, disabled per default. if you like to activate it -> rename to 06_05_vsftp.init (no configuration required)
"How do I rename this. Where is it located?
I'm mainly trying to play media files from my ftp network drive but although it shows up in the list of available upnp servers. It does not show any files. I know I have probably missed something.

Thanks

If you need to watch movies from your ftp directly, you have to install curlftp module. Use web interface-modules-online.
After this you have to configure your IP and login data.

all scripts are located /mtd_down/widgets/user/SamyGO/SamyGO/etc/init.d/

You don`t need to mess with vsftp script, because in D series ftp is implemented in other way. I reccomend you to touch these scripts what you know really what are you doing by enabling/disabling them.
Rename means - remove .dis from script name = means enabled, or add .dis = means disabled. Also you can enable/disable scripts trough web interface too.

juuso - thanks for helping me again.
Oh right so I understand about renaming the scripts to enable or disable them and that i can access them by FTP, but I'm not clear on how to install modules or where to find them.
What do you mean by "use web interface-modules-online".
Edit:
Right, I think I'm starting to figure things out - I need to use "WebIf" by DEUS to install modules etc.
I'm trying to install it now but when I navigate to "http://"TV IP Address"/cgi-bin/Modules.cgi" all that happens is that it downloads a file called "modules.cgi" Is this correct?
Thanks and sorry for continued noob questions!

This is what i`ve expecting from you: to get things clear by self with a little help of us.

No, if everything is correct, you have to see modules listed on right frame. Perhaps you have to install modules module first? I don`t remember if it is included to final SamyGO widget, i think not yet. SO you have to use console and install new webif from scratch as it is written on this topic. Try once again to reach modules cgi page after tv reboot. Should work.

I thought I had installed it. I already followed instructions in that topic.
I used NetCat from my PC and pasted the following into the shell:
. /dtv/SGO.env; wget "download/file.php?mode=view&id=1175" -O /dtv/install.tar; tar -mvxf /dtv/install.tar -C /
It looked like it installed correctly, then I switched TV off and on again, navigated to Samygo widget, ran it, then went back to my web browser and typed "http://192.168.1.66/cgi-bin/Modules.cgi"
All that happens is that is downloads a file called "modules.cgi".
Could it be that Samygo extensions did not install correctly?

Ok, had a try of installing Samygo Extensions again.

This is what I got after installing and running the widget first time, (this is what I got after first install):

(At the top it said something like "You have a problem with authority" Does this matter?

Then I exit smart hub and go back to Samygo Extensions and this is what I got:

I guess this is because it is already running? I was just checking things.
Does all of this look ok because it still does the same as before when i navigate to e.g. "http://ip_of_tv/phpsysinfo/shell.php" then it just attempts to download a file.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
