problem with ssh

Hi,
today i try to login using ssh on my D6500 login root , pass SamyGO it seems be ok but.... login failed "Server refused to allocate pty" ok in /dev there are no pty so i try to create it but /dev is ro. Is any way to login as root to D6500? Webshell works (with user/pass) but it is not comfortable for me. Second case - i wanna to compile ALSA and some kernel modules to set up SB xfi usb card (for 6 channels sound direct from TV) my question is "does it have sens?" because tv that is not computer or any other similar device.
