Hello, Could someone please help me patch my HT-D5100 firmware to allow my cinavia protected backups work.

I have installed the B-FIRHTBEUC_001116 firmware through DNS and also installed the samygo widget through DNS but now I am stuck

I am trying to extract the latest samsung firmware(if that is the right one to use) to be able to patch it but I am having no luck with the Python extracting script.

To give a bit of light on the picture I have never hacked my tv/BD player before but have done all the consoles (following guides) and I am running a windows & 64b machine.

If anyone could help me out that would be great

you can grab exeDSP right from your device trough ftp.

I am currently trying to connect through ftp but i get

Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server

When I select the samygo widget I get

Extensions-Pack is nested on this device!

i ca`t troubleshoot your ftp issue. You have to do this by self. Check IP of the device, set it from auto to manual and so on. ftp should be there.

right a reboot corrected the ftp problem.

Just getting the EXEdsp now

Right I've ftp over the EXEdsp file and i have searched for the F1 9F 97 values which I have found but the rest of the values in the line are different is that to be expected?

The wiki says to

2. Open exeDSP in HEX editor and search for hex string (i use 3F as mask, there can be any symbols instead.):
For B-ECB* firmwares:
08 40 2D E9 04 00 50 E3 00 F1 9F 97 3F 3F 00 EA
Replace three bytes F1 9F 97 to 00 A0 E1. Result must look like:
08 40 2D E9 04 00 50 E3 00 00 A0 E1 3F 3F 00 EA
For B-FIR* firmwares:
10 80 BD E8 08 40 2D E9 04 00 50 E3 00 F1 9F 97 3F 3F 00 EA
Replace three bytes F1 9F 97 to 00 A0 E1. Result must look like:
10 80 BD E8 08 40 2D E9 04 00 50 E3 00 00 A0 E1 3F 3F 00 EA
3. Save patched exeDSP
4. Install modified exeDSP to BD player.

The line i have found is

0C 30 94 E5 03 00 53 E3 03 F1 9F 97 13 00 00 EA

What exact firmware are you patching right now? Name and version please.

but interesting to know what was the issue.

He has same BD/FW as me (HT-D5100 / FIRHTBEUC 1016.3).
Probably some mistake when hex searching.. Everything's good now, he's testing his patched exeDSP
